SKELMERSDALE Police attended a road traffic collision after an off-road bike lost control and a female was thrown off the rear of the vehicle.
The driver of the off-road bike then fled the scene and left the injured female on the side of the road.
She was taken to hospital with a suspected fractured pelvis.
The incident took place on Monday, August 16.
A spokesperson for Skelmersdale Police said: “Thankfully the female was wearing a helmet otherwise this could have been much worse.
“This is just another example of how dangerous these bikes can be and why we do not tolerate them.
“We would like to thank all of the members of the public who assisted at the scene.”
