COUNCILLORS Paula Murphy and Marion Atkinson, along with Danny Burns, Chair of Molyneux Labour Party, were on hand to receive delivery of three planters for Northway.
Funding secured by Labour Councillors has helped to brighten up the area that sits diagonally opposite the recently transformed Bobby’s Wood. All of them were on hand to plant up the planters along with local residents who requested the planters in the first instance.
Danny, a local resident and volunteer said: “It was an absolute pleasure to help plant up the planters and it was incredible the instant difference it made to the look and feel off that small area.
“We hope the planters, our regular litter picks, and of course the fantastic work carried out in Bobby’s Wood, continue to improve what we call the gateway into Maghull.”
Cllr Marion Atkinson said: “Residents are pleased with the planters and are looking to add plants over the coming months.
“Maghull in Bloom have also agreed to offer help and support so we will, of course, be linking the two together. Bootle Tool Shed made a fantastic job of the planters, real value for money.”
Cllr Paula Murphy said: “The request for planters was a definite yes from me.
“We are always happy to look at any improvements with our residents and we have fantastic volunteers who we work regularly with to introduce sustainable self-sufficient projects.”
