Titan causes quite a stir in town centre

by Henry James (August 2021)

TITAN the Robot caused quite a stir in Ormskirk town centre, when he appeared on the streets - much to the amazement of shoppers and visitors.

The eight foot robot could be seen by the clocktower in the town, spraying water at people passing by!

His visit on Friday, August 20, was part of a range of family friendly entertainment the council has been providing across Skelmersdale, Burscough and Ormskirk to help support local high streets and businesses.

The events have been funded by the Government’s Welcome Back Fund and have been free for families looking for activities during the summer holidays.

On Saturday, September 4 on the main high street in Burscough, interactive games are planned.

Councillor Ian Moran, leader of the council, said: “We have been delighted to have this funding to enable us to support families by providing free entertainment over the school holidays and we have helped to support our local businesses.”
