TWO talented brothers from Ormskirk who have a passion for martial arts have been selected to represent Team GB in this month’s WUKF World Karate Championships 2021 in Romania.
Ryan Molloy, 20 and his younger brother Michael, 17, will compete in the international competition later this month.
The brothers, who studied at St Bede's High School in Ormskirk, both started training in shotokan karate in Kirkby Sports Centre when they were only five years old.
Ryan and Michael obtained their First Dan black belt when they were both 13 years old and continued to progress in the sport.
It has been a long year of training for the pair, who have been travelling between Kirkby Shotokan Club with Sensei Morrison and Team GB based in South Shields.
The World Championships is the biggest competition in the The World Union of Karate-Do Federations calendar.
Michael, who is now a Second Dan black belt, has also nearly completed his young leaders instructors qualification.
Meanwhile, Ryan has opened his new business in Aughton called Barbers Republic.
