A “DARK and dirty” alleyway in Maghull has been cleaned up by a pair of town councillors and a local campaigner.
Town councillors Ken and Thomas Hughes, together with local campaigner Matthew Lock picked the alleyway between Liverpool road South and Glenholm, trimmed the trees from around the lights, unblocked the rain gutter and weeded the path.
Matthew said: “During my canvassing sessions, residents highlighted this alleyway as being dark and dirty, so something had to be done as soon as possible.
“The response after was so heartwarming, local residents were delighted to see things getting done!”
Councillor Tom Hughes added: “It was great to assist Matthew in cleaning this alleyway.
“I’m delighted to add it to our long list of projects we’ve delivered for Maghull, from repainting the subway to running holiday activities for children.”
Ken said: “Any resident with any other grot spots that need tidying up, or local concerns across Sefton can call me on 07889 454678.”
