Huge mural on Toad Hall is starting to take shape

Huge mural on Toad Hall is starting to take shape

by Danielle Thompson (September 2021)

AFTER months of work, part of the Toad Hall mural in Ainsdale is now complete.

Artist Paul Curtis finished the smaller side at the weekend of what will be one of the largest murals in the country.

A spokesperson for Sefton Council said: “The progress so far is amazing, we all can’t wait to see the finished masterpiece in the coming weeks as Paul continues to paint the larger side of the building.”

Sefton Council commissioned Paul   to carry out the work as part of its plans to develop the so-called ‘Ainsdale-on-Sea’ coastal area.

The talented artist last year created a huge image of Red Rum in Southport and recently created a mural of  inspirational Hillsborough campaigner Anne Williams, near Liverpool’s stadium, which will be passed by thousands of fans  on their way to matches.

Paul Curtis added: “The smaller side of the mural is now complete.

“I will be here for a while longer yet to finish the larger side.”
