SEVERAL residents recently alerted West Lancs MP Rosie Cooper to the rundown and unkempt telephone exchange site at Winifred Lane in Aughton.
They reported that the fencing was badly damaged and needed replacing in parts and painting in others and that the grass was rarely cut and often overgrown.
The facilities management company acting for BT, CBRE, have confirmed to Ms Cooper that the grass has now been cut and they have made arrangements for the damaged fencing to be replaced and painted.
The MP commented: “While I am glad this work is now being done, it shouldn’t take residents complaining or an MP’s intervention! Why do we have to fight for basic maintenance and repairs to be carried out?
“I have asked to be kept updated to ensure this work is carried out promptly.”
