AROUND 1,000 daffodil bulbs have been planted at the Marie Curie Field of Hope by volunteers of all ages.
Formby residents, volunteers from David Wilson Homes and pupils from Redgate Primary School took part in planting the bulbs in preparation to bloom in the spring.
The housebuilder is building close to the planting area at its Pinewood Park development and among its volunteers digging in to help out with the bulb planting was planning director, Andrew Taylor.
He said: “We were delighted to help with planting daffodils in Formby and everyone in attendance will have provided a lovely addition to Liverpool Road when spring arrives. Supporting the communities in which we build is a priority of ours and our colleagues always jump at the chance to help with these fantastic projects.”
The daffodil bulbs were provided by GSU Landscapes, who helped to rotavate the land and prepared it for planting ahead of the volunteer day.
