OLD Christ Church in Waterloo will host a stunning ‘lighting and laser show’ in aid of two charities.
The event, created by Paul Alty and entitled ‘Black Hole – End of Time’, will be held on Saturday, November 27. It is a 30 minute show running from 4pm-9.30pm on a loop.
It will feature lasers, strobe lighting, haze, smoke effects and loud music to show the historic building in a whole new light!
The event is free to attend but in exchange for tickets people are asked to make a donation.
This will then be split equally between The Church Conservation Trust and #WeMakeEvents.
Old Christ Church no longer functions as a place of worship but does run community events so the money raised will help it continue to operate.
#WeMakeEvents is a charity set up by the Professional lighting & Sound Association (PLASA) to support struggling live event technicians, designers and other behind the scenes people who have been hit hard through Covid due to financial and/or ill-health.
Paul said: “Using 20 lasers and a host of other architectural and lighting effects, the performance takes the audience on a journey - to orbit a black hole, a walk on clouds whilst looking up to the crystal star-filled ceiling to standing in the shadow of a black hole, watching it burst with laser light whilst beams dance around in every direction; and eventually watching it fade.
“The event is free entry but donations are requested for #WeMakeEvents, the technical entertainment charity, and The Church Conservation Trust.”
