Art Network celebrates first year

by Henry James (October 2021)

SKELMERSDALE Art Network is looking forward to celebrating the end of its first year with a debut exhibition this month called Sanctuary.

The Network has been going from strength to strength since its formation in January and despite lockdowns and Covid restrictions, has attracted a wide range of members.

They have been meeting throughout the year via zoom and face-to-face sessions to learn new things together and find ways of celebrating art in Skelmersdale.

‘Sanctuary’ reflects the safe place created by the Network where people can be creative and celebrate their artistic work within the community.

Around 70 pieces will be displayed at the exhibition in a wide range of mediums including watercolour, chalk pastel, embroidery, pencil crayon, and pencil and silk.

The exhibition will be held on Saturday, November 13 (10am-5pm) and Sunday November 14 (10am-4pm) at the Artz Centre Birch Green, WN8 6QE. There will also be art on sale and refreshments available. There is no booking required.
