Man beaten up in his own home by burglars

A MAN was beaten unconsciousness in his own home in Skelmersdale by a gang of masked burglars.

The gang of three armed intruders were armed with bats and knives as they entered the rear of a house on Beechtrees shortly before 12.45pm on Tuesday (November 2).

They demanded that the victim hand over cash and then assaulted him.

The three men then searched the property, stealing cash and a watch from the victim’s wrist.

The gang were all dressed in black and wore face coverings.

DC Kieran Helps from Skelmersdale Police said: “This must have been a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who was not only assaulted but was knocked out to the point of unconsciousness in his own home where he should be most safe.

“We need anyone who saw the people involved or knows what happened to get in touch.”
