WEST Lancashire Borough Council is pleased to announce their Christmas card competition is now open to all primary school pupils in the borough.
Christmas is such a magical time for children and the council is inviting them to get creative and help spread a little of that wonderful festive cheer and positivity throughout the borough by designing a Christmas card around the theme of ‘What Christmas means to me’.
The winning design will feature on the council's official Christmas Card sent to dignitaries as well as their friends and partners across the Borough.
The theme for the competition was originally chosen by Councillor Ian Moran, leader of West Lancashire Borough Council, who said: “I hope this competition captures a little of what makes the festive season so special for young children. After a difficult year, I’m delighted we are encouraging children to have fun and express their creativity.
“The design could feature scrumptious food, snowy scenes or spending time with family and friends - or something completely different! I can’t wait to see the designs and wish everyone entering good luck. I hope the children really enjoy designing their cards and getting excited about the festive season to come.”
All primary schools across West Lancs have been sent information on the competition. Entries should be submitted by November 17 directly from the school to Customerengagement@westlancs.gov.uk
A council spokesman has said: “We hope you have fun creating your designs and we can't wait to see them!”
