BRIGHT Beginnings Holiday Club in Skelmersdale have been making progress in being more environmentally friendly by reducing waste, and providing a food source for the birds and squirrels with the local area of Digmoor.
Children attending the holiday club have had the opportunity to carve their own pumpkins and take them home.
They have also learnt that people can reduce their carbon footprint by feeding the wildlife they have around them. They can also save on general waste.
A spokesman for Bright Beginnings Holiday Club said: “The children really enjoyed the activities in the fresh air and got to learn about nature on our door step. We have also started recycling all our waste within the nursery to reduce land fill which has been an ongoing issue in Skelmersdale.
“We like to think we are making a difference to our community. We are also educating our children on how they can reduce their carbon footprint.”
