PROFITS from this summer’s Parbulele Ukulele Festival went to NHS Charities Together.

A cheque for £2,640 was handed to the NHS Charities Together by the mayor of West Lancashire, Cllr Gordon Johnson last week.

Gary Smith, the organiser of Parbulele said: “Usually any money raised goes back into village activities.

“However, this year because of the pandemic we decided to donate it to NHS Charities Together.

“This year was a brilliant festival and was probably the best ever. It was certainly the largest.”

Also in attendance at the presentation was Parbold borough Councillor May Blake and parish Councillor Brian Arnold.
