RAINBOW Hub in Mawdesley has been awarded a £3,000 grant from major gas firm Cadent and its official charity after being voted for by its customers.
The local charity, which provides care and support for children with physical and neurological disabilities, is one of 12 charities to receive a share of a £25,000 grant fund in the second round of the Cadent Foundation’s ‘Connecting Colleagues, Customers and Communities’ initiative.
The Cadent Foundation is funded by local gas network Cadent, and employees were asked to nominate local charities which were then shortlisted to go forward to a public vote.
More than 1,500 customers took part in the voting process with Rainbow Hub being awarded the top grant of £3,000.
Lyndsay Fahey, chief executive, Rainbow Hub, said: “The services we provide are so important to the children we support and their families. Every penny helps us continue to provide the therapies that help each individual reach their potential. As we do not receive any statutory funding, we rely on grants and monies that we raise ourselves.”
