A BAND from Crosby are mixing it with some of the biggest names in the music industry after their new album was placed highly in the charts.
Red Rum Club released their third album ‘How to Steal the World’ and on Friday, November 19 it reached a high of 18th in the UK Album Chart – just a few places behind the likes of Coldplay and ABBA.
It is also the current number one in the iTunes Rock Albums chart and fifth in the UK Indie Album chart.
A statement from the band, who were all school friends from the Crosby area reads: “Thank you everyone! You are our everything! Look at those artists around us!
“We are up there amongst them because of you. We are very proud of this album and have been amazed at the reaction to it. Enjoy it, it’s yours.”
Red Rum Club is an alternative/indie band made up of Fran Doran (vocals), Tom Williams (lead guitar), Michael McDermott (rhythm guitar), Simon Hepworth (bass), Neil Lawson (drums) and trumpet player Joe Corby.
Their debut album in 2019 was called Matador, which was followed by The Hollow of Humdrum the following year.
