Waterloo Festival to move to Rimrose Valley park next summer

by Tom Martin (November 2021)

THERE will be a change of venue for next year’s Waterloo Festival.

The event will take place at Rimrose Valley Country Park in 2022 rather than Crosby Coastal Park, where it has been held previously.

Organisers of the Waterloo Festival are currently working with Rimrose Valley Friends (RVF) to draw up plans for the event to switch to the south Sefton park over the early May Bank Holiday weekend 2022.

The first two days of the event on April 30 and May 1 will feature 16 bands playing live sets.

The festival will conclude on Bank Holiday Monday on May 2 with a bumper, free to enter ‘Party in The Park’ including live music and lots of family and community based activities.

Sarah Edey, RVF charity trustee, said: “It is anticipated that the weekend’s event will attract a new audience to Rimrose Valley and showcase everything it has to offer.”

Steve McGriskin added: “We are long time supporters of the work done by Rimrose Valley Friends in protecting, preserving and promoting the Country Park so we were happy to relocate our event from its usual stunning setting in Crosby Coastal Park to support their idea of staging a music and community events based festival weekend.”

Further details about the festival weekend will be announced next month.
