POLICE have said bricks and stones caused damage to a Skelmersdale home and not a firearms discharge as originally thought.
Officers attended an address in Fairstead at 3.50am on Monday, January 10 where it was initially believed gunshots had been fired at a property, causing damage to a number of windows.
Following further investigations they are now confident that no firearm has been used and the damage was caused to the windows of the property by bricks and stones.
No-one was injured in the incident.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police commented: “Enquiries are continuing into the incident which is now being treated as criminal damage. We believe the incident to be isolated and targeted.
“We hope that this update offers some reassurance to anyone who may have been concerned by the earlier reports.”
