EDGE Hill University has been shortlisted for two awards after joining forces with national employers to help boost career opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The University has been shortlisted in the AGCAS Awards in the Excellence Building Effective Partnerships and Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity categories.
The nominations are in relation to RE:Action 24/7, a new social mobility programme developed by education and employability firm TG Consulting and national rental agency Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
By signing up to the programme, 600 Edge Hill students had access to live sessions across a free seven-week programme including inspirational keynotes, personal development seminars and aspirational employment masterclasses.
Becka Colley Foster, Interim Head of Careers at Edge Hill University, said: “Being shortlisted for these awards highlights our determination to help students build confidence and develop a positive mindset to help their career development.
“RE:Action 24/7 provided our students with the secrets of becoming more resilient, more confident and ultimately more successful in their future career.
“Opportunity for all is a key component of the University’s ethos and we want our students to feel empowered in the knowledge that they can reach their full potential.”
