POLICE are investigating a spate of vehicle thefts in the Hillside area when a number of Ford cars and vans were stolen.

Over a period of several days, thieves targeted vehicles parked on Ashton Road, Cambridge Road and Albert Road.

Police confirmed that in all cases, the cars and vans were Ford and taken without keys.

Sefton Police posted on Facebook: “If you live in the immediate area of one of the thefts you will have received a letter asking if you witnessed any of these thefts or have CCTV or dash cam footage which may have captured the offenders.

“If you can help with our investigations into these thefts but have not received a letter, please do contact us.

“High value and prestige cars have always been targets for thieves/burglars, but any vehicle can be targeted by thieves. Criminals target cars and any items of value left inside them, like handbags, wallets, tools and sat navs.

“Vehicle registration plates are also sometimes stolen. Cars with doors that have been left unlocked are being identified and targeted.”
