LEARNING Stars art students have been busy working on a set of exciting textile sensory lap quilts for some of the residents in Stocks Hall Residential Care Home in Ormskirk.
Learning Stars is an established non profit organisation community group dedicated to providing educational inclusive workshops to learning disabled and neurodivergent adults.
The arts project, led by artist/art tutor Julie James-Turner, received funding from Tesco’s Bags for Life.
Students worked for many hours on the different panels to create interesting colourful, tactile, multi-sensory lap quilts, that some of the residents at Stocks Hall can use just like fiddle muffs.
They can help to relieve restlessness and stress, improve circulation and provide comfort.
