A SOUTHPORT law firm has donated more than £12,000 to local and national charities.

Fletchers Solicitors has given the money to Queenscourt Hospice, Claire House Hospice, Alder Hey Children’s Charity, Joining Jack and Cancer Research UK.

The money was raised throughout the year by Fletchers staff giving directly from their salaries, as well as fundraising events.

Peter Haden, CEO of Fletchers, said: “It is really important to us to support both local and national charities that make such an impact in helping people and funding research.

“At Fletchers we strongly believe in the need to be a responsible business that gives back to the communities that we represent.

Linda Chicken, fundraising assistant at“Queenscourt said “With much of our planned fundraising being put on hold due to Government guidelines, it has been a difficult time to raise much-needed income and to engage with our wider community.

“The fantastic donation (£2,000) from Fletchers will help to keep Queenscourt in service, so that we can continue providing exceptional compassionate care for local people.

“As a small local charity with a big reach, support from our wider community is vitally important. The contribution from Fletchers will make all the difference.”
