ST Joseph’s Hospice has been named the official charity partner for this year’s Liverpool to Chester Bike Ride.
The Thornton-based hospice charity, which cares for over 200 local people and their families every year, has a number of places available for the bike ride, which is suitable for all ages and abilities.
Hospice chief executive, Mike Parr, has already signed up for the Sunday, July 2 event and is hoping to encourage others to show their support at what is proving to be a very challenging time for the hospice.
Mike said: “This is a non-competitive cycling event and it’s going to be a fantastic day because there are lots of different routes and distances available so it really is suitable for everyone.
“We are very proud to be a charity partner for such a brilliant local event and this is a particularly important event for us because the current economic situation is having a significant impact on donations.
“We hope, however, that people will still be keen to do their own fundraising this year by taking on a challenge like the Liverpool to Chester Bike Ride and showing their support to the hospice.”
The Liverpool Chester Liverpool Bike Ride covers a range of distances from 5 miles to 100 miles and is suitable for all ages and abilities. A special combo ticket is available on certain routes, where one child (under the age of 15 years) will get a free place when accompanied by one paying adult.
