A FOUNDATION which was set up following the death of a hairdresser from Melling has donated a ‘friendship bench’ to the Sefton primary school where she was a pupil.
Cathy Booth died in February 2021 from a heart condition, and had a hairdressers in Garston for 51 years.
Cathy’s husband, Bill Booth, wanted to start a foundation in Cathy’s name.
The foundation recently gave a bench to the primary school, St Robert Bellarmines in Bootle.
Cathy and Bill’s daughter, Jane Booth said: “The Cathy’s of Garston Foundation, set up in her name by her husband Bill last year is well under way.
“We donated a friendship bench to Cathy’s primary school, St Robert Bellarmines in Bootle and we will be back in the school to present the awards for our competition that we set up in December last year, to recognise those in school who maintain high standards and who are good friends. This was a fitting tribute to the way Cathy was all her life.”
Cathy’s of Garston won two awards at the North West regional final of the England Business Awards in November 2021: Best Hairdresser and Best Community Business.
