MORE than £6,000 has been raised to buy new school books for all years at Summerhill Primary School in Maghull.
A range of fundraising activities have been undertaken including the recent Summerhill Social summer fair held at the school.
With the sun shining down, parents joined pupils and teachers for games, competitions and refreshments. A host of local businesses were also on hand to showcase their products to help the fundraising efforts.
At the fair, a presentation was made with Bill Esterson MP and local Councillors in which the school’s charity, the Friends of Summerhill School Association (FSSA) were presented with a cheque of £4,500 by the managing director of Persimmon Homes North West (shown, left).
The donation contributed to a grand total of £6,260 being raised to purchase new school books for all year groups at the school.
