A SKILLED nine year old is celebrating after coming second in a major golfing contest for talented young players from all around the world.
Leo Taylor, from Skelmersdale, took up the sport when he was seven – and he loves it so much he has played every single day for the last two years!
His love of competing has led his supportive family on adventures abroad - including Florida and Ireland.
Leo, who is a member of both Ormskirk Golf Club and Hillside Golf Club in Southport, came second in the Age 9 category of the World Championships in Northern Ireland last week.
He has previously won three European Junior tournaments, as well as winning the US Kids Tour in Florida and he also came second in the European Championship in Scotland in May.
His proud dad Andy said: “Leo took up golf and has done so well, we are unbelievably proud of him. Supporting him in competitions takes the whole family on great adventures!
“He has a coach, is a member of two great clubs and we have even turned the garage into a golf training area for him!
“He just took to golf like a duck to water and has loved it since he was seven.
“The rest of the family aren’t actually golfers but we love to support him in everything that he does.”
