A TENNIS tournament held in Churchtown has helped serve a charity with a £2,000 donation!
Northmeols Lawn Tennis Club held an ‘American Tennis Tournament’ to raise awareness for the Clatterbridge Cancer Hospital in Liverpool.
Organisers wanted to support the hospital's ongoing fundraising as there are a few members of the club who are currently benefiting from ongoing treatment. A spokesperson for the club said: “Happily, the day of the tournament was sunny and very warm.
“On court there were 28 players who competed for over two hours and they were supported by friends and family. Later, a well-earned afternoon tea was served.
“We managed to raise an incredible £1,980 on the day.”
