A FORMER Southport councillor has published her first novel after turning her hand to writing.
Marianne Welsh, who was a Lib-Dem Cllr on Sefton Council, has penned ‘Rylands’ under her professional name of Marianne Price.
Rylands tells the story of a rekindled friendship between two women called Helen and Claire.
When Helen goes to stay with her friend in Suffolk, she is shocked to find her living in the first past-lifestyle development in the UK, built on a former American Air Base.
Everything is a recreation of the 1940s way of life and Helen must adhere to this way of life, including dress and rules.
Rylands is Marianne’s second book after she published ‘The Woman of Stencils and Other Stories’ two years ago, which is a collection of 22 short stories.
Rylands has been published by Envance Press and is available on Amazon as a paperback for £6.99 or e-book £1.99.
