Sweet delight for chocolatier after triple award win!

A CHOCOLATIER in Mawdesley has scooped three gongs at a blind-tasting food awards.

ChocAmor, based at Cedar Farm, enjoyed a triple success at the recent Great Taste awards in recognition of three of its tasty treats.

Paul Williams, head chocolatier at ChocAmor, said: “We were uncertain if we would enter any awards this year but decided last minute to go for it and we were delighted to have such positive news.

“This takes our overall awards tally to the magical number of 54.

“This includes Great Taste Awards, Academy of Chocolate Awards, International Chocolate Awards – British Finals and seven World Finals.”

This year’s three awards were:

•A two Star Award was given for the Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt & Nibs Bar.

This consists of a single origin Colombian 61% dark chocolate with Halen Mon Pure Sea Salt & Colombian Roasted Cocoa Nib.

This two Star award is only one of nine chocolate awards in this category.

•A one Star award was given for the Dark Chocolate with Coffee Bar.

This consists of a single origin Colombian 61% dark chocolate with coffee sourced from a local coffee roaster in Cedar Farm.

•A one Star award was given for the Dark Chocolate with Kalamata Olive Oil Bar.

This consists of a single origin Colombian 61% dark chocolate flavoured with 1st Press Greek Kalamata Olive oil.

The Great Taste awards are judged by the most demanding palates, belonging to food critics, chefs, cooks, restaurateurs and producers as well as a whole host of food writers and journalists.

Great Taste is widely acknowledged as the most respected food accreditation scheme for artisan and speciality food producers.

As well as a badge of honour, winners get a black and gold Great Taste label to let customers know of their success.
