A PETITION against plans to erect an 18 metre high monopole outside a primary school has been set up by a group of concerned Crosby residents.
A planning application has been submitted by CK Hutchinson Networks (UK) Ltd to place the structure on The Northern Road, outside Great Crosby Primary School.
A similar proposal at nearby Forefield Community Infant & Nursery School was scrapped earlier this year following similar concerns by residents and school leaders who claimed the mast would be a hazard to children who would have to navigate around it.
Now, residents close to Great Crosby Primary have set-up a petition in the hope of persuading Sefton Council to similarly dismiss this plan.
One resident told the Champion: “This is an entirely inappropriate place to put such a huge structure. This road gets very busy during school times and the pavements are full of kids, parents, prams and bikes.
“The masts needs to be in a better location.”
