A MAN needed hospital treatment after he has struck by a fallen tree branch in Southport town centre.
The incident happened in the small greenspace outside Sainsbury’s, off Lord Street, at around 9.30am on Monday, August 15.
The man, aged in his 50s, needed hospital treatment to head and facial injuries.
A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 9.30am following reports of a fallen tree. We sent one ambulance and a male in his 50s with head/facial injuries was taken to Southport and Formby hospital.”
A woodchipper could be seen following the incident as the branch was removed from the area.
